Macedonian Ethnic School “Blazhe Koneski”

Coniston

The Macedonian Ethnic School “Blazhe Koneski” in Coniston was open in March 2017. The School is receiving help from the Department of Education and there is no fee for children who would like to study the Macedonian Language.

The Initiators for opening of this school were parents Ana Nikoloski and Johnny Poposki.

The School Blazhe Koneski is valued and is an important cultural and educational institution to the Macedonian Youth of Wollongong who wish to learn and study the Macedonian Language and culture.

The major aim of the program help at Blazhe Koneski is to develop and strengthen the children`s ability to communicate in the language of their ancestor. Children learn to talk, listen, read, write and to create and interpret text. Role – playing and games are frequently used strategies, which help keep the children actively involved.

The school is open every Friday during school terms. The two-hour class starts at 4:30 pm and concludes at 6:30 pm. The school currently has students between the age of 5 and 12 years old from K to year 6. The School is an independent, non – profit making organisation.
