40 YEARS Macedonian Language Studies in NSW

Children can learn language, learn through language and learn about language as they gather knowledge, develop the capacity to think, reason and create and broaden their social and personal competencies. Bilingualism creates flexible and adaptable individuals who thrive in multicultural settings, relate to individuals from a diverse backgrounds and grow from their interaction with new arrivals.

The philosophy behind learning a language stems from the belief that students acquire a second language better when they have a firm basis in the mother tongue, and that maintenance and development of the first language and concurrent acquisition of a second language enhances cognitive development and self-esteem. Students who are learning the Macedonian language experience not only language learning and development, but are also engage in cultural activities. The program provides sample opportunities that focus on an appreciating an understanding of the country, its history, beliefs, traditions and the festivities of Macedonia.
